Overall I'm striking because I disagree with a lot of the changes LJ is making. I think it's ridiculous that they got of the Basic accounts for new users, and that they don't show certain interests (such as bisexual or fanfiction).  Like really, why?

Here's a quick explanation I found on an LJ:

What's this about?

* It's about free and ad-free LiveJournal accounts being abolished for new members, ignoring the advice from the newly-formed Advisory Board.
* It's about LJ staff trying to sneak this decision in under the radar, and when people found out, telling the users it was done 'to make the signup process less confusing'.
* It's about LJ staff failing to apologize for trying to hide the facts from view and for lying about the actual reasons for their actions.
* And finally, it's about the latest decision to hide certain user interests from the list of Most Popular Interests, some of them being fanfiction, bisexuality, sex and depression. This decision was not announced or explained in any way. Users found out for themselves.

p.s. My spring break starts tomorrow (once school ends).  Cannot wait.

VMars - Children

Car-Sickness

So that last post, to those who read it, was supposed to be private.  My mistake.  Still, thanks for the advice, but let's not discuss it, 'cause I don't want too many people to know, even though, y'know, it's highly unlikely to get back to school.

Besides that rather AHH moment, life's been a mixture of busy and relaxing.
I'm a third trimester senior, which means, more frees.  But not always when I want them.  I can only leave early on Tuesdays.  :(
When APs are over, then it'll be better I think.

I've been feeling semi-nauseous all day.  Blegh.
But I've been watching Buffy Season 2 on DVD, so that's excellente!

Oh and yesterday I finished My So-Called Life.  My friend didn't want her DVDs so she gave them to me.
It was so (!) good.  Ah, I want to know who Angela chose!!  Jordan or Brian?
I guess we'll never know.

All right, need to finish my reading, and this episode of Buffy (Go Fish, that one with the fish-y guy eating the insides of the swim team)- so good.

Juno - Cheese

An update on Sasha

Done some more art.  Only like two hours worth though...
School's been busy.  It's musical season, and tech week starts today.
And I'm supposed to go ice skating, 'cause Ranee's visiting from Cali, so I need to shower.
And life, in general, is pretty awesome though.
I miss you friends.
Sorry I've haven't updated in like 500 years, or whenever I last updated.

Tegan and Sara - Cute!

MY So-Called Life

So yeah, I've been at home wayyy too much the last week or so.  I didn't have school on Monday or Tuesday.  And then I got sick on Thursday, so I didn't go to school then nor today.
Cabin feverrrrrrrrrrr!!!  AHFHUH.

Anyway, when I heard about Heath Ledger on Tuesday, it was incredibly shocking!  The amount of deaths is really crazy.  I've just been hearing about too many.  Like Andrew Peff on Saturday.  Just really sad.  He was in the grade above me, went to my school.  His funeral was yesterday.  :(  And I really was a big fan of the Heath.  I've loved him since 10 Things I Hate About You.  And y'know Brokeback Mountain was amazing too.  And I was realllly excited to see him in The Dark Knight.  Now it's just going to be sad.

I'm such a downer.  Man.

Tomorrow my parents return from India!  Thank GOD, is all I can say.  It's way too stressing having to take care of yourself and your sister annnd your cat and go to school, come home and do homework(craploads may i add), make sure lunch is prepared for tomorrow, make sure we eat dinner and crazy shit like that.  Just too much for me to handle at that point.

But weekend, parents, hooray!  Who'd have thought I want my parents home!  I think it would have been better if I wasn't behind in school already and/or didn't have school.  Like Saturday through Tuesday was really nice.

Which reminds me,  Went to see Kimya Dawson on Saturday.  So fucking fun!  Oh mmmmmman.  Lexie gave her a present.  And Kimya walked between us on the way up to the stage.  It was really funny.  I was like "Wow, Kimya is making such a good example, five minutes late to her own concert." And then she's behind us and says "Excuse me."  I WAS BEING SARCASTIC KIMYA!!!
And then Emily's car got towed.  Really hilarious.  I wasn't there when she parked (I came on bus), but she parked in a bus zone.  But she's not stupid, I swear.  Five other people tried to park in the same spot while we were calling Emily's mom and the police.

Oh by the way, my first experience talking to the police was hilarious (Emily was freaking out, so she made me call).  I was trying to tell the lady where we were located.  I was like "38th Parallel Place"
Lady-  "Parallel?"
Me- "Yeah, parallel, like..." ( I totally blanked at the definition of paralell.  All I could think of were parallelograms.)
Lady- "Like two lines that don't intersect?"
Me- "YES EXACTLY!!!!"
Then the lady and I laughed about it.  Good times.

Anyway, then we figured out where the the car was towed, 'cause the metermaid came.  And we blew off the cops because they hadn't come, and it had been 10 minutes.  And we got into a cab, I made him type in "Weccacoe" on his GPS, and then we ran out 'cause Emily's mom told us to get off the cab.  Turns out Emily's dad was coming.

Then Lexie and I spent like an hour at the towplace eating candy and tastycakes, while Emily had to walk around in the cold to get her car.  It's not our fault, the parking people wouldn't let us go in.  Anyway, got the car.  On the way home, Lexie and I decided there needs to be a reality show about people's cars being towed (which they already have actually, on A&E)  where the parking guys tell people "YOU GOT TOOOOWED!"  Because seriously it's scary as shit, since they don't leave any indication that the car was towed (we thought at first the car was stolen, but then we were like "There was BMW next to it!").

I love the show My So-Called Life by the way.  I'm thinking of just stealing Emily's DVDs because I can't stand watching teh one episode abc.com puts up on Fridays.  I want to see every episode, like, right now.

p.s. I'm extremely hyper right now.  Cabin fever, remember?
p.p.s. Some progress with the art.  Take a look!  Can't wait for the concert on May 12th.

Tegan and Sara - Cute!

Pants.

My update.

So I'm back in school.  And I shouldn't be starting this sentence with a "so" according to Mrs. Irving.  Whatever.  School is booey.  I mean, some things have been good, like making up songs about "ugly shoes" with Jenny.  So very enjoyable.  Math class is also the most boring thing.  Katherine and I are constantly chatting and doodling.  I cannot stand school anymore.  I dunno why.  I guess 'cause I'm in college now I suppose?

Besides all that fun stuff, on Friday I saw Juno again, as I mentioned last entry.  It was even better, I must say.  I really had a tough time trying not to sing along with all the songs though.  Big problem.  Emily told me to shut up, like, seven times.  Hahaha.  We both teared up again at that part in the end.  :)  After the movies though, we were walking to our cars (Hannah, Jenny, Tessa, Emily and I) and we noticed Todd's car.  So we're like, "OMG, Todd's car!!  We should leave him a note or something."  And then Jenny mentioned lipstick and writing on his car with it.  So we did.  Only we didn't have lipstick, we had chapstick.  Tessa wrote "Dear Todd, Hey Sexy!!!"  and then I drew lips on it and a heart.  Good fun.  My finger smelled like strawberry the rest of the night though, 'cause I was smudging the chapstick around.  Todd's the type of guy who would be completely flabbergasted by something like that.  I guess we'll find out how he reacted tomorrow.

Oh, and we took down our Chrismas tree yesterday.  It was very non-issue this year.  Normally I'm like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."  But I actually was like "When are we taking it down?" this year.  I'm losing my innocence!  OH NOSE!  Haha, no, I think it was because this Christmas felt so unlike Christmas to me.  I didn't actually UNWRAP any presents.  I suppose that's why.

Also, I mentioned earlier that I started an art project.  Like three weeks ago I think actually.  But I totally hated how it was coming out, so I restarted it, like completely from scratch, today.  I think it looks pretty good thus far.  Need to add way more highlights of course, and a ton of other stuff.  But it's pretty good for one hour of work.  i can't wait to start on Sara later.  Link --> http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/SaSush33/Art/tns%20progress/tns1.jpg

So give me tips.  It's much appreciated.

Tegan and Sara - Cute!

2 years and 10 things.

It's been two years since I began this amazing thing called my livejournal.  It's really weird, but kinda sad, 'cause I remember that day when I made it.  Time moves too quickly.

But anyway, thanks to everyone I've ever talked to on here.  You guys are the reason I really continue this.  I mean, I could just as easily write solely in my journal, but I love leaving comments on your pages and receiving comments and talking about things like the union between Cath and Roberto and the ugly nifflers.
So yes, thanks.

Also, since it is the end of the year, it's time for the famous Top Ten BEST things About 2007: (hooray!)

Although 2007 had some really terribly moments, it turned out quite well.  Things worked out/are working out.  There was that whole week where I thought my cat was going to die, and I felt over my head throughout junior year, and my grandfather being in and out of the hospital (hops as Emily would call it), everything turned out fine/is turning out fine.  Especially my cat.  I'm ever-so grateful for him still waking me up at 4:30am for food.  I love him to pieces.

Also just for fun, a list of my 10 favorite songs of 2007.  Just because.

Well I REALLY must go.  My battery is dying.  And it's 2:40am

Oh p.s. New layout- FINALLY. Click -->  [info]sasush33

Juno - Cheese

He's the cheese to my macaroni.

 MERRY CHRISTMAS F-LIST!

Today was more or less a relaxing day, 'cause our heater isn't really working.  So I spent the entire day in bed, wrapped up in blankets.  I did watch my Order of the Phoenix DVD with the Pottercast Commentary.  It was really fun actually.
And, I worked on the art I started back on Saturday or whatever.  It's a digital art portrait of Tegan and Sara.  It's coming along pretty well.  Hooray!

So besides this, Sunday I saw JunoJuno is perhaps the cutest, funniest, best movie I've seen this year.  Ah everything was so good in the movie, from Ellen Page and Michael Cera to the awesome soundtrack to the hilarious script.  Diablo whatever-her-last-name-is gets MAJOR props for writing such a brilliant script.  Every joke was hilarious.  The whole audience was cracking up.  Not a single boring or flat part.  And yeah, everyone's acting was so amazing.  I loved Jennifer Garner's subtle humor.  And Ellen Paaaaage.  Oh my, I loved her.
And I was almost at tears at one part, because it was so sad and touching... Emily and Lexie were ACTUALLY crying.  But everything was so realistic and touching without getting too somber.
You know, I think it would have been cool to see Michael Cera and Jason Bateman in the same scene, just 'cause I did love Arrested Development so much.  But it wouldn't have really made ANY sense with the story.

But some fun facts/favorite moments:
Sean from Degrassi was in it!!  The Jock who's crushing on Juno (Ellen Page's character)!!! Daniel Clark's kinda a hottie.
Juno likes the same kind of guitars as me!
The chair.  "He was so good... in chair."
The Burger Phone!  How I want one.
I love how Dwight was in there for a total of three minutes.
"Can't we just like kick this old school. You know, like I stick the baby in a basket, send it your way, like Moses and the reeds?"
Kimya Dawson is soooooooo amazing.  "Loose Lips" is definitely one of my favorite songs on that soundtrack.
"He is the cheese to my macaroni."
The Moldy Peaches are pretty much amazing:  "The monkey on your back is the latest trend."

Now I have to go find myself some Juno icons.  Go see Juno.

Tegan and Sara - Cute!

banteeeeer

My eye itches like no other.

But anyway, I've been trying to do a whole lot of stuff now that I have off.
And no colleges to apply to.

What I've done since five days ago:
Read and finished Twilight.  More later.
Tried writing songs.  I have a catchy chord sequence... Now for the lyrics.
Started a new art project, though next week I want to work on my speed painting.  We'll see how that turns out.
Downloaded This Business of Art by Tegan and Sara, finally.  Now I know why Tegan dislikes "Superstar".
Sneezed a lot.  Well just today really.
Learned some new songs on guitar and piano.  Well the piano part was soooo easy.
Read three more chapters of Wuthering Heights than I had to.  I love that book.
Bought an amp for my guitar.
Ate pizza with friends and saw "The Jerk"
Slept a bit.
Did some Spanish and Math.
Drove my sister around.

Yeah that's a really boring list, looking back on it.  Sorry I'm not really interesting.
But tomorrow is Juno, FINALLLY!  I've been wanting to see this movie for aaaaaaaaaages.  It's kinda ridiculous.  But it's only playing at the Ritz in Center City and Emily went to Penn State for some reason.  But we're going to see it tomorrow, so it's excellente.

So now thoughts on:
Twilight )

Yeah that was fun.
And now, a photo.
This, right here, is my intense face.

College Going Gal

So this  entry has been three days in the making...

Friday was CRAZY!  I GOT INTO COLLEGE!!!

It was also the last day of school!  But YEAH!  I'm in college.
I got into University of Pennsylvania.  I can't believe it.
It's like the big relief though.  I had barely done any of my other applications, so I'm kinda happy.

Plus, Penn was my first choice....
Got into Digital Media Design, which is the mixture of Art and Engineering.
It's a pretty awesome major, although [info]fongmingyun tells me it's TERRIBLY hard...
Ah, how I look forward to that...
But yeah, now I'm off from school.  I'm going to go buy myself an amp for my guitar.

My friend named it Tyrone, 'cause it's an Epiphone.  Tyrone the Epiphone.  See it rhymes..

So, I had to draw a cartoon for the mirror.
It was great, because it's exactly how I feel, aaaaaaaaaaalll the time.
Stupid college application process.

Yeah, we go by trimester system at my school...

Um, besides that, got an electric guitar.
It's pretty.
Picture later?

Oh, I'm ttttooootally obsessed with the new The New Pornographers CD, Challengers.. Wow that's a mouthful.  Favorite song: Myriad Harbour.

Some Arts!!

I CANNOT wait until Thanksgiving Break.  Only two more days of school- which will be hell.

I contemplating whether I should see The Moaning Myrtles and The Whomping Willows tomorrow.  I really want to, but I need to finish two papers!!  Looks like a no.

Oh last week was PC/GA day, which is this big sports day where our school competes against Germantown Academy (fun fact, it's the oldest school rivalry in the nation) for a big gold cup.  We won.  It was frakking amazing!  We won the football game in the last nine seconds!

Ooh Hairspray DVD commercial.  Cannot wait!!

But anyway, I gots some arts.
There's that Sylar one, and then a little James/Lily doodle.  The doodle took like 15 minutes, I swear.
Enjoy )

Procrastination and Busyness

Yay! I'm doing the [info]hp_art_project!  So excited.  I'm doing the chapter "The Unknowable Room" from Half-Blood Prince.
So the end of the trimester is coming, so it's been super-busy.
This first tri sucks 'cause colleges look at these grades.
Blergh.  (30 Rock Reference to those who didn't know.)

Saw The Moaning Myrtles and The Whomping Willows today.  It was really cool.
It was funny though 'cause there were all these parents, so they were like, "Whaaa?"
I haven't done anything for [info]inter_wri_art.  I feeeel terrible.  Or nanomango now that I think about it.  I suck.

Well I NEED to finish this paper by Thursday, so I'm going to work on it now.
Tell me about your lives, I haven't been keeping up really.
Byebye!

Tegan and Sara - Cute!

I can't wait till I get into college.
Then I'll have so much free time.
Like siriusly.

Oh well.
Lif'e's been good.  Friday was my friends birthday.  Ryan came back from college it was wonderful.  I missed him so.
And I dunno.  COLLEGE.
Ah, sorry.
Pushing Daisies is the best show, all must watch.

Drawing Sylar.  He's hot, even though he scares me on Heroes.
Check it, webcam photo of the drawing.

Sorry to all LJ friends, I haven't been commenting at all.
I miss you guys.

Harry Potter - Ron/Hermione Love

books galore

Visited Columbia today.  Took the Chinatown bus from Philly.  It was thoroughly exhausting.  But Columbia was wonderful!
Things new?
Umm, Pushing Daisies is one of my most favorite shows already.  I hope it continues to be good.
Finally reading Perfume: Story of a Murderer, it's quite awesome.  Grenouille is a really creepy main character.  I dunno if I can call him a protagonist though.
REALLY need to work on my college essays, English paper, and History paper.  Too much writing, meh.

Also, did that book meme.  I feel accomplished because I've read a bunch of them.  :D  And now I'm bragging...

Tegan and Sara - Cute!

Life Update.

So life's been busy.
I have SAT2s on Saturday.  I'm only doing it because I need to take Math 2.  I have good scores on the Bio and Chem one's I did, so it's all good.
Sunday is Hannah's birthday party.  She is LEGAL now which means PORN!
Haha...

Oh, and I found out I've been nominated by my school for the Robertson's Scholar program, which is this AWESOME scholarship to either Duke or UNC.  Like, if you get the scholarship they give you a computer, during your sophomore year you do service projects in some other country, and you study a semester in either UNC or Duke (if you go to Duke you do a semester in UNC and vice-versa).  So I'm really excited.  It's like awarded to 50 people around the country, so we'll see.
However this causes some problems.  The deadline for the Robertson's Scholar forms are due by December 1st, and I was planning on applying Early Decision to Penn (the deadline is Nov. 1 for that), so what happens if I get the scholarship AND get into Penn (highly unlikely)... I suppose I'll have to turn down the scholarship (which would be kinda sad).  So now I must visit Duke and check it out.

But besides that boring stuff.  I'M GOING TO HARLEM TOMORROW!!  It's for my "Being Black in America" class.  I'm really excited.  I'm updating my iPod and everything..

And Friday is Day of Service, which should be cool.  My homeroom is going to the park nearby and clean it up.  Not as interesting as the mural thing that I was SUPPOSED to sign up for.  But the list was full in, like, two minutes.

Well I'ma go.  In ten minutes Pushing Daisies  is on, so I MUST watch.... Oh yeah, and I think I'm making a plan to update this AT LEAST once a week.  I think that's a good idea.

Oh and I really want to do the [info]hp_art_projectthing, but I have zero time (as you can tell, I haven't finished any art lately)...  And am not financially able to contribute either.  I'm really sad.... :(

OMG AND PHILLIES LOST TODAY!! REALLY UPSET!  Someone in our school went and put Phillie's posters on everyone's locker.  It's really funny!  It was like that with the Eagles two years ago.  I love Penn Charter for that..

Heroes ramble

So, um, Heroes was on yesterday.
AND IT WAS FRAKKING AMAZING!!!
I am SOOO glad this show is back.
One show that rarely disappoints.

Like Smallville usually gets bad at least once every three weeks, and LOST won't be on in forever.  Both Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars (I'm still sad about VMars) are over.  And Degrassi just does NOT count.  But Heroes.  Heroes is just perfect.  It almost always satisfies.

All-in-all, a great start to the season.

Besides Heroes.  I skipped the soccer game today.  Said I was sick.  I am really tired, because I had to wake up extra-early for Girls A Capella.  But I have to be back in school by 7pm anyway for stupid case study (which is this college thing).

Anddd my Being Black in America class was SO amazing today.  We were discussing topics for our seven-page paper, and we were looking at contemporary racism.  Like did you know that the KKK has their OWN website, and they sell Tee-shirts.  Like at first it was just ridiculous reading the stuff on the shirt, but then it just got sick.  Like "Klan Kids Kare".  It was really gross.  And then we were talking about interracial relationships.  So this one girl, Rosa, was talking about how when she was dating this black guy, this person went up to her and was like "I heard you're licking a snicker".  Dr. Ford's face at that point was:  =O
That was really funny.  And I have this really funny quote from class. But I forget it right now.  I wrote it down though.

But yes.  I really love that class.  We don't so much work as we just discuss things, and watch the "Crank That" music video (which has a gross connotation to it, so I refuse to listen to it ever again).  It's lovely.

Anyway, sorry for spamming your friends page.  I just don't feel like working yet.
